We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Engineer who demonstrates great communication skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn a new business and its supporting technical processes. This is an exciting role to support modern Data solutions.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. W2 Rate $30-$39/hr
Responsibilities:
- Handle the design and construction of scalable management systems, ensure that all data systems meet company requirements, and also research new uses for data acquisition.
- Required to know and understand the ins and outs of the industry such as data mining practices, algorithms, and how data can be used.
- Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems.
- Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes.
- Ensure that all systems meet the business/company requirements as well as industry practices.
- Integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures.
- Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
- Create custom software components and analytics applications. Research new uses for existing data.
- Employ an array of technological languages and tools to connect systems together.
- Collaborate with members of your team (eg, data architects, the IT team, data scientists) on the project’s goals.
- Install/update disaster recovery procedures.
- Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality.
Experience Requirements:
Must-have technical skill sets, in priority order:
- Snowflake – Modern data warehousing
- dbt – SQL-based transformations, testing, and documentation.
- DataStage – Legacy ETL support during migration.
- SQL – Advanced queries and optimization.
- ETL/ELT Development – Pipeline design and orchestration.
- CI/CD – Git-based deployment and automation
Nice-to-have technical skill set:
- AWS / Azure / GCP – Cloud storage, compute, and IAM fundamentals.
- Python & Shell scripting – Automation and data processing.
- Data Modeling – Normalized and dimensional models.
- Data Validation Frameworks – e.g., dbt tests or Great Expectations.
- Metadata Management – Cataloging and lineage tracking.
- REST / SOAP APIs – Integration with external systems
Candidate must demonstrate great communication skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn a new business and its supporting technical processes. Three or more years of applied technical experience desired.
Education Requirements:
Qualifications: Technical Degree or related work experience.
