Our government client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. We offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Pay Rate: $65.00 - $75.00/hr on W2

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided pay range.

W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.

Responsibilities of the Senior Data Engineer:
  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines
  • Come up with simple, functional, and elegant solutions that balance the data needs across the organization
  • Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps the organization achieve its goals
  • Create data products that will be used throughout the organization
  • Advise, consult, mentor and coach other data and analytic professionals on data standards and practices
  • Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytic solutions
  • Develop and deliver documentation on data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes
  • Participate in coaching, mentoring, design reviews and code reviews
Requirements of the Senior Data Engineer:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 8 years of relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant and progressive data engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience working with data pipelines using a variety of source and target locations
  • Experience in engineering practices such as development, code refactoring, and leveraging design patterns, CI/CD, and building highly scalable data applications and processes
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing data pipeline performance issues
  • Experience developing pipelines
  • Experience working with and supporting cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes
  • Experience with data ingestion and engineering, specifically involving large data volumes
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL) 
  • Deep Technical knowledge and experience in Databricks
  • Thorough knowledge of Synapse and SQL Server including T-SQL and stored procedures
  • Knowledge of advanced data engineering concepts such as dimensional modeling, ETL, data governance, data warehousing involving structured and unstructured data
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
