Our client seeks a Copywriter to develop creative direct mail print copy across products and audiences. The role will collaborate with art directors, creative directors, and marketing partners to translate strategy and consumer insights into effective communications that strengthen the brand and customer experience.

🔴 Critical Requirements
- Contract: 6 months, with potential extension and possible conversion to permanent employment.
- Maximum bill rate: $55.63/hour. This is a firm ceiling with no flexibility above it.
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional copywriting experience.
- Candidate must be sufficiently experienced to work independently with limited supervision.
- Primary expertise: Strong direct mail copywriting and copy-editing experience.
- Workload: Approximately 60% new copywriting and 40% copy editing.
- Portfolio: Required. A portfolio link must accompany the résumé.
- Financial services or fintech experience is strongly preferred.
📍 Location
The position is remote during the contract, but candidates should be based near a Capital One People Centre, particularly because the role could potentially extend or convert to permanent employment.

- Experience collaborating with graphic designers, art directors and other creative professionals.
- The flexibility to adapt to changing corporate requirements.
- Ideally, previous experience within financial services or fintech.
Agency candidates are acceptable, provided they have solid professional experience and can successfully adapt to a corporate environment.

Responsibilities:
- Produce creative copy for a range of products within the Direct Mail Print channel.
- Brainstorm concepts and execute detail-oriented projects while collaborating with art directors, creative directors, and marketing strategists.
- Partner with internal marketing and line-of-business stakeholders.
- Create marketing that cuts through the noise using strategy to inform decisions.
- Apply integrated thinking across channels, products, and audiences while maintaining brand consistency.
- Incorporate consumer insights to influence work and improve customer experiences.
- Manage multiple deadlines and deliver error-free work with attention to detail.
- Listen to and incorporate feedback, determining when to use existing solutions or build new ones.
- Understand project goals, take direction, ask clarifying questions, and present work clearly to varied audiences.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 2 years of copywriting experience in a professional setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in Direct Mail with understanding of Adobe InDesign.
- Experience in B2C, Direct Response, Print, or Direct Mail preferred.
- Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience preferred.
