What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for consistently delivering solutions that are high quality and highly reliable 
  • Liaise between engineering team and senior staff: communicate business goals to software engineering team, and communicate team accomplishments to senior staff
  • Lead effectively and with high energy; champion Agile practices
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on software development and enterprise architecture
  • Provide leadership to the team to include hiring, coaching and mentoring of varied levels of software engineers
  • Work with technical leads, architects and product owners to ensure the team’s work is aligned with enterprise-level architectural standards and solution delivered is of the highest quality
  • Steer the direction of Agile development efforts for one or more enterprise-level development initiatives
  • Assess current software development practices and principles to identify and implement process and software improvements

Who You Are:

  • Experience in a managerial position, overseeing a web development team
  • Experience successfully managing large complex, projects; interacting with senior leadership; providing leadership; and collaborating with customers
  • Experience and skill in developing strategies and solutions of high business value while becoming a trusted partner of business users and executives
  • Strong technical background and creative problem-solving abilities  
  • Able to evaluate complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively
  • Understand, promote and easily talk to the tenets of building high quality software
  • Experience in implementing design patterns and ability to adapt to changing patterns quickly
  • ‘Big picture’ thinker who can look ahead to long-term impacts to the decisions made
  • Passionate and enthusiastic personality
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace
  • Manage personalities to ensure a strong team environment
