Position Summary

Our client is a Boston-based financial investment firm that serves over twenty million customers. They employ tens of thousands of individuals and manage trillions of dollars in assets. With almost a century of experience, this financial services company is an industry leader, both nationally and globally. Our client is known for being a great place to work, and they are looking for a Functional QA Tester to join their team.

Responsibilities of the Functional QA Tester:

  • Adhere to Quality Assurance best practices and policies
  • Interpret and analyze project requirements; seek clarifications as needed
  • Create and maintain test plans
  • Compose test cases in Quality Center for functionality that cannot be automate as well as for test cases which can be automated
  • Manage test plan data, define test approaches
  • Provides status of test planning efforts to Service Delivery Management
  • Conduct test plan and test case reviews and obtains sign offs from project stakeholders including Service Delivery Management
  • Lead E2E defect triage meetings
  • Generate all necessary test data requests  
  • Performs first level triage on defects, and for environment or code issues which are blocking automation efforts
  • Monitors environment issues impacting project execution and facilitates closure

Requirements of the Functional QA Tester:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Math, or Finance
  • At least 2 years of experience with QA testing and systems development life cycles required 
  • Experience with Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies
  • Strong understanding of fixed income
  • FIX Protocol experience is nice to have
  • Ability to achieve balance and proactively solve/overcome obstacles
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Easily adaptable to organizational change
  • Motivated self-starter, innovative, independent thinker
  • Brokerage knowledge a plus
