Position Summary

Our highly regarded client is looking for an experienced Cloud Security Architect to join their team.

Responsibilities for the Cloud Security Architect:

  • Security Architecture, Advisory and Consulting for a large business program 
  • Must identify key risks and issues, address and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Analyze current shortcomings and develop an architectural solution that is fit-for-purpose and cost-effective
  • Enhance current security policies to align with changing cloud security landscape
  • Develop and modify architecture patterns and standards
  • Coordination of technical design and review activities with various segment and corporate groups and security assurance activities 
  • Engaging Risk & Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Operational Security (SOC) at appropriate stages in the project 
  • Research and implement changes to procedures and systems to enhance security in accordance with corporate policies 

Requirements for the Cloud Security Architect:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or applicable experience
  • At least 4 years’ experience working in relevant roles 
  • Applicable experience with designing and managing security controls between services providers and the cloud
  • Strong background in security architecture including a solid knowledge of Cloud Security including perimeter, defense, end-point security, and Cloud service contracts
  • Ability to work across a variety of technology stacks in various cloud environments including Azure, AWS, Oracle and Salesforce, cloud API integration, IAM, Mobile Device Mangement, CASB, and Secure Web Gateway
  • Strong ability and experience designing and implementing technical security solutions such as IDS/IPS, secure remote access, firewalls, encryption, secure protocols, data protection, data loss prevention and identity management solutions within Cloud environments
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and ensure that cloud deployments that are planned across business projects are secure
  • Experience in integrating with a SIEM, or working within a system monitoring environment
  • Experience of incorporating security controls at each stage of the software development life cycle process (ITIL)
  • Experience of security hardening techniques and policy development aligned to Cloud Security standards (e.g. CSA Cloud Control Matrix)
  • Experience in risk management processes with ability to evaluate third-party suppliers offering SaaS based cloud solutions
  • Knowledge with Enterprise Architecture (E.g.: TOGAF) and Security Architecture frameworks (E.g.: O-ESA, SABSA)
  • Understanding of wider information security related principles, gained prominently in the industry or from a consultancy background
  • Ability to challenge the program and IS colleagues and the wiliness to have the "difficult conversations" where applicable in the interests of the business
  • Strong communication both written and verbally in leadership and partnering roles
  • Able to demonstrate a high degree of credibility and influence senior stakeholders within the organization
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering business requirements to time and budget constraints 
  • Able to operate as a highly independent worker and as part of a strong team
