Position Summary

Our client is an international insurance company with over 150 years of experience. As the recipient of many “Top Employers” awards, they have demonstrated that they are dedicated to making a difference not only in their community but also in the lives of their employees. They are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join their growing team.

Responsibilities for the Business Analyst:

  • Collaborate with the different divisional teams and develop functional business requirements 
  • Assist the project manager and the security operations team with project related tasks as needed
  • Ability to gather and analyze information from various divisional teams and deploy a security information and event management (SIEM) tool 
  • Set up and train multiple users on the new platform
  • Communicate with security operations team and business units to handle and resolve business users requests and needs
  • Manage the creation and delivery of the requirements matrix, test cases and testing
  • Ability to perform quantitative & qualitative analysis 

Requirements of the Business Analyst: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Security or related field 
  • At least 5 years of progressive project delivery experience including a strong track record of delivering on large regional/global projects 
  • IIBA, PMP, ITIL, CISM or other industry recognized Certification preferred 
  • Experience in implementation of process and/or technology improvements in investment, asset management or regulatory compliance functions
  • Experience delivering complex projects that have scale, complexities, and timelines 
  • Working knowledge of the IT Security Processes and the financial organization structure
  • Customer service oriented
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changes in the organization 
  • Good knowledge of current systems and the interaction with business deliverables and administration 
  • Proven history of strength in process and business analysis 
  • Ability to problem solve complex issues quickly 
  • Working knowledge of analytical tools
  • Intermediate level knowledge of the various stages of the analysis process including feasibility study, high level requirements, detailed requirements, workflow, and procedures
  • Proven history at successfully evaluating feasibility of ideas and options, weighing risks and trade-offs
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies 
  • Big picture mindset with the ability to also focus on detail 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Ability to present complex ideas in a large group setting
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and solve anticipated problems ahead of time
  • Self-driven to take initiative and go above and beyond for the organization
