Our client seeks a motivated Desktop Support Technician to install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade PC hardware and software for optimal workstation performance. The role will troubleshoot issues in person, by telephone, or via email, and provide end-user assistance. The technician must be available to work non-standard hours when required.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $25.00 to $28.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain workstations and laptops running Microsoft Windows 10/11 and required applications.
- Install, configure, and support software including Adobe Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Professional, Adobe Creative Cloud, Beyond Compare, IBM DB2, IBM Data Studio, IBM Rational Application Developer, IBM Rational ClearCase/ClearQuest, Java/Amazon Corretto, Microsoft Office 2019/M365, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), JIRA, Snagit, Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE), and Tivoli BigFix.
- Troubleshoot desktop issues using independent research and vendor support, and document resolutions using the Remedy ticketing system.
- Create user documentation for new processes and applications.
- Provide timely end-user assistance via in-person support, telephone, or email.
- Support non-standard hours when required.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of related desktop support experience.
- Hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 imaging, deployment, and maintenance.
- Proficiency with the listed enterprise applications and endpoint management tools such as SCCM and BigFix.
- Experience with ticketing systems, preferably Remedy.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background investigations; U.S. citizenship required.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
