**This position will require someone to work a hybrid schedule, qualified candidates must be comfortable going onsite when asked in Reston, VA.**

Our client, a leading healthcare insurance provider is looking for a Data Analytics Scientist to join their team.

Responsibilities of the Data Analytics Scientist:
  • Evaluate and define use cases for potential product ideas
  • Lead a team of data scientists to implement complex ML solutions and data products
  • Influence business partners through presentation of data-based recommendations
  • Communicate state of business, experiment results, etc. to internal and external partners
  • Propose what to build in the next roadmap
  • Understand ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends
  • Identify levers to help move key metrics
  • Build models of user behaviors for analysis or to power production systems
  • Authorize pipelines via SQL and Spark or Python based ETL framework
  • Build key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis
  • Perform and automate analyses using statistical language R & Python
  • Design and evaluate experiments monitoring key product metrics
  • Build and analyze dashboards and reports
Requirements of the Data Analytics Scientist:
  • A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science and at least 6 years of work experience in data science research
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and Spark/Scala 
  • Ability to write production-ready code
  • Experience with machine learning methods
  • Proficiency in data science modeling
  • Strong background in machine learning using unsupervised and supervised methods.
  • Deep knowledge of fundamentals of machine learning, data mining and statistical predictive modeling
  • Fluency in SQL and other programming languages
  • Proven experience of using Python Machine Learning & Data Pre-processing Libraries
  • Experience working with cloud technologies and infrastructure
