Are you a passionate Field Service Engineer with experience in a virtualized environment? If you're interested in providing world class technical support to customers, we may have the ideal role for you with our client in Herndon!

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret clearance with Poly.

Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

• Respond to and resolve inquiries within established SLAs
• Monitor infrastructure environment for stability and performance
• Manage a queue of incident and service request tickets
• Document problems and problem diagnosis
• Review and update SOP when necessary

Requirements of the Field Service Engineer:

• At least 2 years of experience in customer services and in a technical setting
• At least 1 year of experience in a virtualized environment (VMware, VBox, Hyper-V)
• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting Windows desktop issues
• Familiarity with both Linux and Windows servers
• Familiarity with enterprise class monitoring/management systems, Nagios, Splunk, etc.
• Experience with a Service Desk or trouble ticketing software like BMC Remedyforce
• Must be comfortable working as the sole technical point-of-contact for certain applications on site
• Must be a team player and be able to work effectively with peers to create a positive environment
• Ability to learn and articulate solutions to technical and non technical audiences
