Responsibilities of the Help Desk Specialist:
  • Receive and respond to user requests or issues, not usually complex
  • Remotely install software and perform hardware testing
  • Enter commands and verify operability; detect errors
  • Maintain records of daily data communications, issues, and actions taken
  • Leverage computer diagnostics and technical manuals to investigate and resolve issues
Requirements of the Help Desk Specialist:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent training and at least 2 years of experience
  • Extensive knowledge of computer / configuration management / desktop communications / operating system / internet directory services software
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed, independent fashion and manage work time effectively
