Job Description

Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Mathematician to work on a Full-Time Position in Johns Creek, GA. Looking to start immediately.  

This is a full-time permanent position that offers excellent benefits that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits and more.  The salary is range is open based on experience.  

Responsibilities of the Mathematician:
  • Designing, developing, programming, documenting, analyzing, creating, testing, and modifying algorithms, mathematical and/or statistical models, and pay tables 
  • Understanding management requirements and translating those into workable programming code that is compatible with company software products
  • Working closely with game designers to develop proof of concept and feasibility of game concepts
  • Interfacing with systems engineers and other game design staff to help prototype games
  • Routinely verifying that mathematical models are properly implemented and functioning
  • Interfacing with QA department to prove each mathematical model
  • Applying systems analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications
  • Developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code, as needed, to support mathematical structures
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of industry trends in database systems based on technical and academic literature, trade shows, competitive products, etc.
  • Occasionally traveling to company engineering offices, various customer locations, trade shows, etc.
  • Providing accurate project estimates to the engineering manager
Requirements of the Mathematician:
  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Mathematics 
  • At least two years of mathematics or engineering experience 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Able to work with a diverse group of people
  • Strong interest and proficiency in probability and statistical mathematics
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one computer language required, in-depth knowledge of multiple computer languages preferred
  • Experience with one of the following methodologies is preferred: Agile (Scrum, XP or RAD)
  • Experience in the Gaming Industry is preferred
