Our client is seeking a Program Manager who thrives in solving problems with cross-functional teams and enjoys working closely with engineers to assess the feasibility of proposed technical solutions.  This role requires the ability to work with stakeholders that span subscriptions, finance, marketing, and platform teams, to name a few, with the primary goal of implementing technical solutions that have been identified as legal and compliance priorities by the cross-functional compliance forum.   You will work directly with the leader of the compliance forum and will be part of the cross-functional Program Management Organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Draw out and translate customer’s business and legal requirements into technical/functional specifications that can be easily consumed by engineer partners. Confidently participate in discussions with engineer partners to assess pros and cons of potential solutions.
  • Actively participate in architectural discussions to understand the relationship of the solution to the overall business need and break down solution requirements into chunks of digestible delivery milestones on a roadmap. Has the ability to diagram or draw out current state process maps and that shows the connections of all workstreams involved. Builds and keeps the master work plan with concurrent workstreams up to date, visible and tracks it to completion.
  • Knows how to manage software development projects from launch through completion. Is honest about delivery risks and is not afraid to raise them. Mediate to bring consensus on priority, scope and realistic timelines. Motivate and maintain a healthy alignment across multiple project teams.
  • Ensures shared understanding of holistic goals and success criteria across all project teams. Promote a free flow of information with and among partners and team members on all matters.
  • Work with partners, including legal, compliance, Infosecurity, marketing to understand the scope of impact and translate the scope into requirements for engineers, product, project managers, design, platform teams and business to move efforts forward with little to no escalation
  • Track and communicate all project and program level metrics inclusive of all key risks, and emergent issues that are readily accessible and current. Manages portfolio communications for key stakeholders.
  • Detect systemic issues, process problems, and other risks and work with the appropriate colleagues to find resolutions in an expeditious manner.
  • Ensure all risks and dependencies are identified and handled swiftly, and that key decisions are communicated appropriately. Able to recommend appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market with an eye for risk management.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in program management running diverse technical development projects, ideally in an area that has compliance and legal stakeholders.
  • Ability to relay strategies, goals, and project status to both technical and non-technical partners
  • Demonstrated experience working in both Agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Technically fluent - you understand the basic concepts behind APIs, frameworks, networking, cloud computing, etc. You can fluidly facilitate and participate in conversations with technical teammates daily.
  • Exhibit knowledge of Jira, or other equivalent project management / task management tooling.
