**Hybrid in Washington, DC**

Our government client is looking for a Security Engineer to join their team.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. Responsibilities of the Security Engineer:
  • Perform day-to-day activities required to administer and deploy Symantec anti-virus software
  • Centrally manage Symantec related settings using various servers
  • Manage workstation anti-virus software, DAT, and engineer updates
  • Perform virus scans and updates as scheduled
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provides incident resolution for all related incidents
  • Assist with malware response efforts
  • Engage with Federal Leadership and counterparts to identify endpoint vulnerabilities and provide feedback on remediation actions
  • Engage with system and application administrators to coordination remediation efforts to meet required timelines
  • Develop and enhance vulnerability identification and remediation status tracking and reporting to present cyber related risks
  • Engage with system and application administrators and Federal counterparts to troubleshoot issues
  • Work Cyber related security operations ITSM assigned tickets to completion
  • Participate in relevant CyberSecurity and Security Operations meetings
  • Collaborate on and provide feedback to cybersecurity solutions that enhance DOT security posture
Requirements of the Security Engineer:
  • A Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology field and at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of related experience administrating enterprise anti-virus software
  • Must have experience using the DOT Anti-Virus system (currently Symantec)
  • Experience working with Endpoint Vulnerability Scanning solutions, specifically Tenable Nessus
  • Experience with and understanding of Federal CyberSecurity requirements
  • Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, GCIH, OSCP, CEH, or similar certification
