Job Description

Our Media Client's Technology Integration Management Office (TIMO) is actively seeking a Senior Business Analyst as part of the Standards, Governance, and Systems and Tooling team.  This team is responsible for translating the company’s overall policies to processes that enable successful project delivery by the Tech teams.  This includes, but is not limited to, understanding of industry standards; knowledge of waterfall and agile project management methodologies; adherence to governance procedures, audits, or compliance; establishing best practices based on controllership requirements; and oversight of delivery via project management toolsets. The candidate will help drive decision-making around current business processes in order to transition to the new PPM/toolsets which will sustain a newly formed organizational structure. The Senior Business Analyst will help consolidate methodologies and templates across the Technology organization. This will also require potential on-demand training to be provided to specific Tech areas and workstreams.   

*Remote to start (candidate should be based in NYC or Atlanta for when the offices open up this person will be required to work onsite)

Responsibilities:

  •  Lead and provide mentoring on high value / strategic projects.
  • Act as an advocate for client's Project Management methodology and in adopting new best practices.
  • Educate teams on client's  project methodology, processes, templates and tools 
  • Provide expert judgment in selecting deliverable templates to help teams execute their projects.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with project teams to drive SDLC compliance.
  • Accountable for monitoring consistent use of methodology.
  • Support Project Managers to ensure work effort generates desired deliverables on time, within budget.
  • Assisting in efforts related to overall governance in a decentralized organization, strategic alignment, and stakeholder engagement 
  • System admin for the project management toolsets o Help support questions related to maintenance, access, and/or user interface.
  • Be a backup, as needed, for training or onboarding purposes.
  • Analytics and reporting - status to stakeholders, governance procedures, or help improve processes 
  • Continuously analyze areas to detect where processes are breaking down to support decision-making and convey that to management with recommendations 
  • Prepare reports on projects meeting their milestones and adhering to stakeholder governance in monthly/quarterly checkpoints o Provide data to leadership in easy to understand formats – like PowerPoint 
  • Provide input in formal communications or presentations with project stakeholders, business units, and governance groups 
  • Help maintain and update documentation on processes as needed 
  • Assist with change management processes and procedures

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience of Business Analysis experience of software implementations using a recognized project management methodology.
  • IT consulting experience with a Big 4 or Major Consulting firm required (ie: Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, etc) 
  • Prior experience with PMO processes: Project intake, Demand intake, Project creation, Program creation, Resource management, Time management, Status reporting, Financial management 
  • Must have experience as a BA from both a project delivery perspective and from a PMO perspective 
  • Must be a BA who has worked on projects from inception to go live.
  • Must understands key deliverables, business process and engineering and been a part of the program office.
  • Must have Implemented project – upgrading a new system from start to finish. Understands the difference phases and took on the responsibility of a BA.
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing waterfall/agile methodology documentation for SDLC compliance.
  • Must have proven experience in IT concepts for applications including understanding basic SDLC controls.
  • Strong working knowledge of various SDLC methodologies Agile, Waterfall, Scrum.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking skills with an ability to assimilate new information, manage multiple tasks and assist with driving key decisions.
  • Managed process improvement initiatives assessing current and future state solutions contributing to improving the success of SDLC Compliance 
  • Basic knowledge of project management software - ServiceNow experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications with demonstrated ability to develop PowerPoint’s, Excel spreadsheets and graphic presentations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation skills, and meeting facilitation skills (including with an executive audience) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, preferred; MBA is a plus.
