Our client, an innovative technology company, has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work on a Full-Time Permanent position in Sandy Springs, GA. Our client is a privately held, fast-growing industry leader with a relaxed, fun, and people-first culture. The Senior DevOps Engineer will be a key resource reporting to the CTO responsible for DevOps Engineering working with AWS-based infrastructure and technologies spanning ECS, Docker, Python, NoSQL, Big Data, Jenkins CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code. The salary range target is $150,000/per year. This client offers work flexibility with two days a week work from home.

Responsibilities of the Senior DevOps Engineer:
  • The Senior DevOps Engineer will help maintain high levels of system performance and availability for all current systems and identify new technologies and tools to improve operations, efficiency, data delivery, and security. 
  • In this role, the Senior DevOps Engineer will work with many different parts of the team and the CTO to engage and manage vendors.
  • Work with the team to develop and maintain all IT operational processes and structures, then evaluate effectiveness.
  • Work with IT leadership to ensure successful development, deployment, and ROI on all IT operation solutions.
  • Manage technical resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain the integrity of datastores (NoSQL, Search, RDBMS), documents, and custom software.
  • Perform backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor critical systems; report and escalate failures.
  • Infrastructure strategic growth planning.
  • Manage the entire AWS-based infrastructure at a low-level level consisting of Linux, Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, Jenkins, Ansible, PostgreSQL/RDS, Solr, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Route53, etc. Elastic, ECS/Fargate.
  • Lead a modernization effort towards IaC and helped streamline and simplify the overall stack.
Requirements of the Senior DevOps Engineer:
  • Eight + years experience in DevOps-related positions maintaining enterprise applications and infrastructure.
  • AWS – as many of these services as possible EC2, S3, PostgreSQL/RDS, ECS/Fargate, Route53, CloudFront, DynamoDB
  • Monitoring – Cloudwatch, Datadog, New Relic, or equivalent tools
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker and ECS preferred but any Containerization is helpful.
  • Scripting in one or more languages: Shell (bash), Python, Ruby, Groovy, or Perl
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Big Data systems is a plus, especially ELK stack.
  • CI/CD Experience (Jenkins preferred)
