We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java / Spring Batch Software Engineer to join our leading client in Durham. Great opportunity to leverage modern technologies, such as Java, Spring Batch, and REST APIs, to build, test, and engineer batch applications!

Responsibilities of the Senior Java / Spring Batch Software Engineer:
  • Help to coordinate multiple development workstreams through integration
  • Ensure architecture is scalable and extensible
  • Define, maintain, and support Java development environment and best practices
  • Help to identify, isolate, resolve, and communicate problems
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement
  • Mentor junior team members
Requirements of the Senior Java / Spring Batch Software Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • At least 7 years of development experience in Java, Spring Core, Spring Batch, and Web Services (SOAP/REST)
  • At least 2 years of experience working on distributed batch processing systems
  • Well versed/solid background in math/solid math
  • Strong design patterns, UML, 12-factor design principles
  • Test Driven Development, Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, Cucumber
  • IDE’s Spring Tool Suite, and Eclipse, within a UNIX and Windows environment
  • Application build, deploy using Continuous Integration/ Deployment (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, etc.
  • Understanding of Job Schedulers like Control-m and Cron
  • Experience writing SQL queries and debugging stored procedures within an Oracle environment
