**Hybrid in Cambridge, MA.**

Our government client is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join their team.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. We offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Pay Rate: $60.00 - $65.00/hr on W2

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided pay range.

Responsibilities of the Senior Security Engineer:
  • Support Information Security Management in the areas of System Administration, Network Engineering and Data Center Operations
  • Participate in initiatives and projects to strengthen, facilitate, and integrate Information System and Network security programs Participate in special projects, ongoing analyses, investigations and initiatives
  • Supervise the administration, security, and continuous operation of computer systems and network infrastructure of the Volpe Center
  • Manage processes that integrate a variety of components to delivery information security services
  • Assists other technical staff members in compliance and/or mitigation services
  • Understand FISMA requirements and respond to audit requests as requested by the ISSM
  • Ensure that automated systems are secure from unauthorized use, viral infection, and other problems
  • Work creatively to modify, adapt, and/or refine responses to resolve specific complex and/or intricate issues and problems
Requirements of the Senior Security Engineer:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with the deployment of a cloud access security broker
  • Experience with security monitoring, analysis and remediation tools
  • Experience with patching and scanning tools such as BigFix and Nessus
  • Ability to implement appropriate security performance metrics in order to control system security
  • Ability to effectively lead a small team and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to interface with high level government leaders
  • Knowledge of Information Systems security regulations, procedures and policies
  • Knowledge of IT hardware, software, components, systems, and/or subsystems
  • Knowledge of Thycotic Privilege Manager
  • Knowledge of end user security awareness best practices
  • Understanding of hardware/software system operational characteristics
