Our client seeks a Data Engineer to develop and support a Python-based, AWS-native data ingestion platform that moves financial data from source systems into a third-party application. The environment includes CDK-provisioned infrastructure, Glue and Spark consumers, and Lambda, ECS, and Flink pipelines. The role emphasizes rigorous testing, security remediation, and data-protection compliance.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain pipeline stages across ingest, validation, tokenization, reformatting, and publishing.
- Develop and execute unit tests and end-to-end tests for data pipelines and platform components.
- Support end-to-end and system test phases to ensure production readiness.
- Drive compliance with data-protection standards, including handling of HSHD and sensitive data.
- Remediate security findings and vulnerabilities across codebase and dependencies.
- Contribute to AWS-native implementations using Lambda, ECS, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and CDK.
- Follow disciplined Git workflows and CI/CD practices.
Experience Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering.
- Hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, ECS, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, and CDK.
- Experience with Glue and Spark for data processing.
- Background with streaming and batch pipelines, including Flink or similar frameworks.
- Proven CI/CD and Git discipline.
- Security and compliance experience, including vulnerability remediation and data-protection controls.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
