Job Description

Do you have a background in IT with experience in business continuity and disaster recovery?  Our client is seeking an expert in disaster recovery to ensure the integrity of local infrastructure in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Disaster Recovery Architect:
  • Work cross-functionally with different business and technology groups to understand DR needs and capabilities
  • Coordinate disaster recovery planning efforts and work with the ongoing COOP (Continuity of Operations Planning) efforts
  • Understand the RFR (Request for Response) process and issue an RFR for disaster recovery planning that includes the following scope:
  • Provide feasibility assessment of DR capabilities for each system and application and create a roadmap to build the DR program 
  • Coordinate vendor selection for the RFR and manage the vendor and internal projects 
  • Ensure compliance with EOTSS (Executive Office of Technology Services and Security) policies and directives
  • Provide expertise on DR matters and as the primary point-of-contact for DR related activities
Requirements of the Disaster Recovery Architect:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • At least 10 years of combined experience working in business continuity, disaster recovery, and IT
  • Extensive knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures such as Disaster Recovery Enablement
  • Experience with recovery automation tools, data replication, and other disaster recovery toolsets
  • Proficiency in infrastructure technology areas including server hardware, operating systems, networking, telecom, storage, virtualization, automation and orchestration, and cloud architecture
  • Broad knowledge of application architecture and software development techniques
  • Elite level of technical writing and editing, to include formatting, proofing, and enhancing technical guides, briefs, manuals, requirements analyses, specification documents, etc.
