Responsibilities of the Editorial Content Strategist:

  • Write and edit long- and short-form copy
  • Revise copy in response to feedback
  • Adapt content to fit our global content model
  • Craft content through the synthesis of a variety of written sources and other inputs
  • Audit content for accuracy, relevance, and quality
  • Collaborate on XML tagging strategy and work in XDocs CCMS
  • Collaborate with communications colleagues to determine messaging, channel, timing, and audience
  • Provide feedback on project plans, wireframes, user flows and interactions, requirements documents, and related artifacts
  • Work with content engineers to make sure the taxonomy, content model, and CMS meet editorial needs
  • Follow company brand, style, accessibility, and other guidelines
  • Copyedit, proofread, and perform content entry as needed

Requirements of the Editorial Content Strategist:

  • Bachelor's degree; Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Business, Library Sciences, Human Factors, Marketing, Instructional Design, or related field preferred
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in creating, adapting, and managing content for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and editing for digital channels
  • Track record of writing simply about complex topics
  • Experience in education-related industries
  • Experience with CMS system migrations and content audits
  • Familiarity with content modeling and structuring content for reuse
  • Experience implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • Communication, time management, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to translate user and business needs into a holistic set of content requirements
  • Ability to define deliverables and provide frequent updates
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
