Job Description

Eliassen is partering with a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. We have an opportunity for an experienced, motivated HR Generalist to join our team and help implement new policies, procedures and programs.  This position will support a variety of HR initiatives including Benefits and HRIS administration.  This position is located in Chantilly, Virginia.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer various human resources plans and programs, such as new hire orientation, training and development, and the performance management process.
  • Administer health and welfare benefit programs including enrollment and terminations.
  • Maintain compliance with Federal, State and local employment law requirements.
  • Assist the Department lead with designing human resources policies and procedures.
  • Partner with business operations to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and resolves HR issues.
  • Maintain and enhance current HRIS systems of records.
  • Implement FMLA, Disability, Military and other types of paid/unpaid leave.
  • Collect and analyze HR data for recommendations to management.
  • Process paperwork for functional area(s) according to established procedures. Prepares internal employee communications regarding such matter as compensation, benefits, or company policies.
  • Implement employee retention initiatives. Conducts exit interviews to collect data.
  • Liaison for employee labor relations, such as employment verifications.
  • Manage workers compensation claims and reporting.
  • Prepare internal communications regarding HR initiatives.
  • May assist in the preparation of the Affirmative Action Plan, EEO-1, Vets-100 and other compliance reporting
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) to seven (7) years of Human Resources experience. An additional six (6) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Work is performed in Chantilly, VA
Preferred/ Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Deltek CostPoint experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Cognos Reporting
  • Experience with Talent Management planning and implementation
