Job Description

Our client, one of the largest media and entertainment companies, is seeking an IoT Field Engineer for a long term contract engagement.  The ideal candidate is hands-on with a results-driven attitude. You must be able to quickly learn and contribute to fast-paced projects, work well independently and in collaborative group-based settings, and be willing to take the initiative.

Responsibilities of the IoT Field Engineer:

  • Work within teams to install, troubleshoot, and configure sensors and smart city devices
  • Create test plan for new devices
  • Execute test cases and report results
  • Debug equipment issues and collect logs
  • Monitor equipment remotely and generate reports
  • Write scripts to automate testing and collect data
  • Communicate and report updates to stake holders
  • Help mount equipment in the field

Requirements of the IoT Field Engineer:

  • At least 7 years of overall experience
  • Knowledge of LTE, NBIOT, Wi-Fi, and LoRa wireless technologies, including experience configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing services in at least two
  • Knowledge of Smart Cities and its various use cases 
  • Knowledge of communication formats / protocol between devices and cloud
  • Advanced programming skills in Python or Java or C++
  • Experience and ability to configure, program, and troubleshoot IoT devices
  • Experience with cloud-based development, preferably AWS
  • Willing to travel 50% of the time
