Job Description

Our industry-leading client in New Britain is seeking a skilled IT Asset Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities of the IT Asset Manager:

  • Develop, manage, and oversee  IT Asset Management program
  • Create and maintain processes to track total cost of IT assets from purchase to decommissioning 
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing operation of an IT Asset Management process, ServiceNow tool, and managed services
  • Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control to drive recommendations for the future
  • Plan and implement process design and improvement and drive continuous process improvement
  • Manage end to end hardware and software life cycle IT Asset Management
  • Develop inventory control processes and lease vs. buy analysis models for hardware and software
  • Lead and manage direct reports in cooperation with Company procedures and policies
  • Research industry best practices and compare against organization’s practices to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets
  • Ensure KPIs are collected, analyzed, and acted upon
  • Oversee program and process governance

Requirements of the IT Asset Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, or equivalent discipline
  • ITIL Foundations and Transition certifications highly preferred
  • At least 7 years of experience in IT service management
  • Hands-on experience managing enterprise processes
  • Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management/inventory tracking tools like ServiceNow, SCCM, APPV, or IBM BigFix
  • Solid working knowledge of IT technologies, including O365, Windows, and hardware
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing agreements (Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, VMware)
  • Experience with multiple methodologies/frameworks
  • General accounting, finance, marketing, and logistics knowledge
  • Strong experience with operational management of issue resolution using ITIL frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow suite
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance preferred
