Job Description

Our client, one large Beverage Distribution Company, is seeking an IT PC/Warehouse Technician, who will be primarily responsible to support the warehouse and transportation teams Electronic Proof of Delivery application and iPad devices which includes the preparation and provisioning of such. In addition, you will be responsible to assist the helpdesk team for PCs, terminals, thin clients, handheld scanners, phones, printers, and mobile devices. You will work directly with internal IT, operations, and transportation teams as well as support teams from vendors until issues are fully resolved.

** This position requires the individual to be onsite at the client's Elizabeth, NJ facility from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, occasional overtime hours may be required when deliveries fall outside normal operating schedules but especially weekends and holidays in October, November, and December.

Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse/Transportation/Driver Support 75%
  • Help Desk Support 15%
  • Device tracking and preventative maintenance/upgrades. 10%
  • Provide Help Desk support to all end users by answering, evaluating, and prioritizing requests (including logging and tracking requests) for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, workstations, file servers, Ethernet and wireless networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures disk drives, data acquisition boards, printers, and related equipment.
  • Tracks the above devices, checks them for good operation and performs preventative maintenance. Ensures security and integrity of systems and data.
  • Provides concise reports to management and team members regarding issues encountered as well as progress toward their solution, and additional resources which may be needed.
  • Prioritizes and begins work immediately on tasks which have the most critical effect on a driver’s ability to capture a signature at time of delivery. Rapidly escalates and engages IT and warehouse/transportation team members or vendor support staff as required.
  • Handles a good volume of Transportation and general help desk tickets. Resolves issues to a high standard and to user’s satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains checklist of critical warehouse/transportation devices, and consumables and schedule of preventative maintenance. Performs maintenance or partners with vendor or warehouse/transportation to perform and submits concise reports to team members and management.

Requirements:

  • Proficient with Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktop, iOS (iPad, iPhone) troubleshooting as well as Microsoft Office and Google Chrome.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) Software, WebEx, Manhattan SCALE, Westfalia Savannah, DMW&H Shiraz, Knapp OSR, Vocollect, SOTI, AS/400 (IBM System i), RoadNet, WMSI (Warehouse management), Metaviewer, VMware, RDP, and/or Server technologies (Windows Server/AD), printers (especially Zebra label printers and large output laser printers like Ricoh) a plus, but they are willing to provide onsite training to a bright, motivated candidate.
  • Successful completion of an IT related professional trade school a plus.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field a plus.
  • Experience working in a helpdesk, IT support or other role, or education in those areas.
  • A+, Network+, or other IT certification a plus.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb stairs on a regular basis.
  • Self-starter and excellent communication skills a must.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, high stress environments.
