Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with clearance eligibility, and must not have traveled outside of the country for more than 6 months in the past 5 years.

Responsibilities of the Software Application Architect:

  • Perform architecture, design, and technology assessments for existing/legacy enterprise applications.
  • Create roadmaps for application modernization highlighting pros and cons, using a hybrid Custom/COTS solutions approach.
  • Collaborate with business customers, technical resources, and IT management to clearly articulate constraints of existing solutions, and benefits of the proposed tools, technologies, and solutions.
  • Deploy tools and creative techniques to reverse engineer, profile, and document existing applications.
  • Present clear and concise technical and business information to a wide-ranging audience including technical/functional resources, as well as executive management.
  • Perform research on custom/COTS solutions and develop prototype/proof-of-concept solutions as needed.
  • Develop high-level solution specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers.
  • Develop automation solutions for configuration management, integration, and testing.
  • Support end-to-end SDLC activities including estimation and planning, requirements development and functional analysis, architecture and design creation, implementation, testing, and deployment/production support.
  • Identify roadblocks and propose effective solutions.

Requirements of the Software Application Architect:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of software development experience building custom solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software architecture experience.
  • Full Stack experience. Familiarity and experience with multiple coding languages and tools.
  • Java/JEE experience is required.
  • Oracle database development experience is required.
  • Enterprise Service Bus and/or application messaging experience is required.
  • Must have knowledge of Document and Workflow management solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of UML and other modeling techniques.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile, DevOps, CI/CD environment.
  • Familiarity with code profiling, automation, conversion tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and or knowledge of ColdFusion is preferred.
  • Preferred domain experience in the Mailing industry, Real estate, and/or Facilities management.
  • Cloud-ready solutions development, and micro-services architecture experience is a plus.
