Responsibilities of the Media Relations Associate:

  • Track and analyze relevant news stories across multiple areas
  • Develop analytical reports, news releases, and blog/social media posts
  • Provide general media relations support, including event logistics
  • Answer general media inquiries from media relations and route appropriately
  • Ensure media relations team is aware of developing stories
  • Provide planning and logistic support for media events
  • Build and update media lists

Requirements of the Media Relations Associate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Cision, and media monitoring platforms and databases
  • Familiarity with managing and tracking social media
  • Excellent communication, writing, reporting, and research skills
  • Strong customer service focus, in person, on the phone, and via email
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in a collaborative team environment
