Job Description

Eliassen Group is seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician for a cyber security client in Herndon VA. This resource will communicate corrective actions effectively to other divisions within the company. The candidate must have strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and critical path creation that lead to problem resolution. You will be joining an exciting team that supports a variety of government agencies in the intelligence community.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a US Citizen with active Top Secret clearance with Full Scope Poly.

Responsibilities of the NOC Technician:

  • Engage with customers to create a pleasant and informative service experience
  • Respond to and resolve inquiries and answer questions within stated timeframes
  • Monitor environment and services for performance and stability to support 24x7 operations
  • Respond to and resolve issues that impact service as they occur
  • Manage a service request/incident queue of tickets
  • Document problems and detailed diagnosis and resolution
  • Execute activities in accordance with standard operating procedure

Requirements of the NOC Technician:

  • At least 2 years of customer service experience in a technical setting
  • At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting Windows desktop and virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper V)
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise class monitoring/management systems, including Zabbix, Nagios, Splunk, Last line, and/or Arbor
  • Experience with a Service Desk or Trouble ticketing software like BMC Remedyforce or ServiceNow
  • Ability to be proactive and work well in a pressured and growing environment
  • Comfortable working as the sole technical point-of-contact for certain applications on site
  • Must be a team player and be able to work effectively with peers to create a positive environment
  • Ability to learn and articulate solutions to technical and non-technical people
  • Ability to work 7-3 M-F
