As a Principal Software Engineer, you will leverage engineering skills to modernize and test annuity contract generation and account opening applications. You will quickly gain understanding of application components and work with the team to deliver best-in-class solutions on a single policy administration platform using OIPA, Java, and Oracle DB.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $80.00 to $90.00/hr. w2

- Develop and maintain policy administration systems using OIPA, including configuration, integration, and data processes.
- Support OIPA v10.2 and contribute to upgrade activities to v11.
- Implement configuration changes without core code customization to improve efficiency.
- Build OIPA extensions and perform palette and application security implementations.
- Configure and maintain screens for policy, roles segment, allocation, and valuation.
- Own release management for OIPA components and related integrations.
- Write and debug simple SQL queries against Oracle databases.
- Apply Java to diagnose and resolve production and maintenance issues.
- Leverage design patterns and UML for maintainable solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.

- 4+ years developing policy administration systems using OIPA, including configuration language, integration, AS Files, data intake, database architecture, and data extraction patterns.
- Proficiency building OIPA extensions and performing palette and application security implementations, screens, and release management.
- Strong Java experience for maintenance and issue resolution.
- Experience writing SQL queries and debugging stored procedures in Oracle.
- Experience with design patterns and UML.
- Familiarity with TDD and tools such as JUnit, Jasmine, Karma, and Protractor.
- Experience using Spring Tool Suite and Eclipse in UNIX and Windows environments.
- Demonstrated leadership as a collaborative team player and self-starter with an innovative mindset.
- Understanding of Docker and cloud services such as AWS or Azure (preferred).
- AWS Certification (preferred).
