Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Resident Engineer to join our an industry-leading client in Hanover.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must have an active Top Secret (with Poly preferred).

Optical experience is a MUST.

Responsibilities of the Resident Engineer:

  • Establish and maintain a strong technical support relationship with assigned clients
  • Support customer networks and provide troubleshooting support
  • Create and publish required customer required reports
  • Engage in customer installation and training
  • Report on design, reliability, and maintenance problems

Requirements of the Resident Engineer:

  • Solid grasp of routing and switching systems for telecommunications applications
  • Strong knowledge of SONET, SDH, ATM, and related switching concepts
  • Familiarity with optical and Ethernet technologies equipment
  • Strong network management software support and experience
  • Knowledge of fiber optic transport and switching protocols 
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug complex system level issues
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
