Responsibilities of the Scrum Master:

  • Guide team on how to implement Agile/Scrum practices
  • Coach teams to higher Scrum maturity levels at a sustainable pace
  • Remove or facilitate the removal of impediments to team's success
  • Facilitate an environment of empowerment and self-driven work
  • Work to improve transparency and share information internally and externally
  • Provide a servant-leadership style of guidance and lead by example

Requirements of the Scrum Master:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team
  • Experience in a managerial role
  • Excellent facilitation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to foster a sense of empowerment and transparency
  • Ability to embody servant-leadership philosophy
  • Knowledge and ability to drive continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP and Kanban
  • Experience with user stories, TDD, continuous integration/testing, pairing, and automated testing
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong mentoring skills
