Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a skilled and passionate Scrum Master with our innovative client in New Jersey.

Responsibilities of the Scrum Master:

  • Embody the Agile/Scrum mindset and provide servant-leadership to the team
  • Guide and coach Scrum team on how to effectively utilize Agile/Scrum practices and self-organization
  • Assess Scrum maturity of the team and coach team to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace
  • Ensure work product quality expectations are clearly defined and communicated across the team
  • Track progress and remove any impediments to team success to help team fulfill their commitments
  • Manage and report on scope, schedule, resources, and financial aspects of the project
  • Facilitate an environment of trust and safety to enable honest communication and problem solving
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, conflict resolution, and all Scrum ceremonies
  • Help Product Owner groom and manage product backlog

Requirements of the Scrum Master:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or similar
  • CSM, PSM, or PMI-ACP required
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Exceptional knowledge of servant-leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, and empowerment
  • Experience with widely successful Agile techniques, including user stories, TDD, and continuous integration
  • Solid people skills and the ability to work as a mediator when conflicts arise
  • Ability to distinguish between what is/is not Scrum
  • Knowledge of XP, Kanban, SAFe, and similar approaches
  • Exceptional communication and mentoring skills
