Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Controls Assessor with our industry-leading client in Suitland.

This is a contract to hire position. All applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration.

Responsibilities of the Security Controls Assessor:

  • Design, develop, review, and approve security controls assessment plan
  • Assess security controls in accordance with assessment procedures
  • Prepare security assessment report documenting issues, findings, and recommendations
  • Assemble security authorization package and submit to authorizing official 
  • Assist with remediation efforts for ongoing monitoring and risk assessment

Requirements of the Security Controls Assessor:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • Security+ or CISSP certification preferred
  • Public Trust clearance strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of NIST Special Publication 800-37
  • Experience with a federal agency strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid team player
