Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT Project Manager with our industry-leading client in Stamford.

Responsibilities of the Senior IT Project Manager:

  • Schedule and facilitate effective status meetings
  • Leverage the light-weight PMO process for project portfolio governance
  • Manage execution of projects with agile principles
  • Remove roadblocks for the team
  • Maintain transparent project plans, risk register and issues log regularly
  • Coordinate all technical and change management activities (training, documentation, etc.) between project resources (both internal and external)
  • Maintain responsibility for vendor procurement, expectation setting, coordination, and invoicing 
  • Maintain responsibility for end to end IT transition of projects to Production Support 
  • Plan and manage project deployment, financial and resource management 
  • Partner with teammates to plan testing (i.e. Functional, Regression, Integration, UAT, Performance, etc.) and execute with the goal of low waste/no-waste 
  • Track and report the progress and status of deployment to all key stakeholders 
  • Contribute to executive and business presentations

Requirements of the Senior IT Project Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field, or equivalent technical education in a directly related area
  • Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience 
  • Experience facilitating and directing the design, build, and deployment of enterprise grade platforms (on-premise & cloud) and software projects 
  • Proven leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Proven history of generating innovative and effective solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to make difficult decisions and to involve others sufficiently in the decision-making process 
  • Ability to effectively navigate complex and ambiguous situations 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in the business environment 
  • Experience in defining and improving processes
  • PMP Certification is a plus
  • Some knowledge of Accounting and/or Insurance and Reinsurance
