Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Manager with our industry-leading client in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the implementation of best practice patterns focused around "infrastructure as code" and "end to end automation" including a strong focus on system and application performance monitoring by using Dynatrace and other monitoring & analysis software
  • KPI driven influence on the overall system architecture by supporting development teams on analyzing the most critical system components in the area around performance and availability and capture the findings as backlog items.
  • Contribute to development teams on topics concerning Operations
  • Lead the steering of SLA’s, and of all Incident, Change, Problem & Configuration Management processes
  • Lead the approach to system level operations automation including tools and methods
  • Ability to develop and run scripts, debug software bugs and identify solutions in source code
  • Drives quality feedback loop and initiatives towards development teams
  • Leads defect root cause initiatives
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks, acts on recovery, leads progress
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement process execution
Requirements:
  • Strong troubleshooting & analytical skills and ability to organize teams and process to facilitate resolution of production issues
  • BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or similar field of study
  • 6+ years of recent experience as a systems operations engineer, or similar IT work
  • ITIL process working knowledge
  • Clear ability to understand how business needs translate IT solutions.
  • Strong & creative analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in a large-scale production environment
  • Identifies and leads continuous improvement process opportunities with measurable results that are impactful to the organization
  • Excellent software engineering skills in: object-oriented design, test driven development, automated unit testing, continuous integration and deployment, etc.
  • High energy, a passion for software and ability to work in a highly collaborative agile environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, & of Agile tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Excellent organizational habits: documentation, maintainability, serviceability, etc.
  • Ability to understand design patterns, object-oriented principles, and architectural best practices
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several initiatives and self-prioritize workload
Desired Qualification:
  • Strong familiarity with solutions that used virtual machines, cloud services (AWS, Azure, including relevant micro service & API architecture)
  • Basic experience using Internet technologies such as web services, HTML, XML, CSS, AJAX, Java, JavaScript, node.js, http, DHTML.
  • Basic understanding of various web service technologies such as SOAP, REST or OData
  • 1-2 years Automotive OEM industry experience
