Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with our industry-leading client in Boston.

Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager:

  • Leads complex projects through their entire lifecycle, including defining requirements, planning, and managing vendors
  • Participates in/leads the development of the Request for Proposals/Request for Information (RFP/ROI) process.
  • Conduct feasibility, risk, regulatory compliance, and ROI analyses for proposed projects.
  • Develops a proposed approach to address a business problem.  For example, creating a build vs. buy analysis.
  • Oversees the design, development and implementation phases of the project, coordinating with the customers, vendors, and other relevant areas of IT. 
  • Makes decisions regarding day-to-day activities such as assigning and reviewing project tasks, resource management within the scope of the project, and approving deliverables for review with the customer.
  • Works closely with customers and/or business analysts to clarify and document business requirements.
  • Establishes measurement criteria to assess project effectiveness/success
  • Develops a project plan to deliver the proposed approach, including time and cost estimates.
  • Makes project assignments, while providing leadership to the project team, managing project scope and ensuring the quality of the deliverables.
  • Monitors, communicates, and reports project process against project plan, requirements, budget, quality measures, and business results expected.
  • Conducts project close activities (e.g., creates closeout plan and report, arranges for post implementation review).
  • Plans and schedules project deliverables, goals and milestones, as well as identifying and mitigating issues
  • Creates project risk assessment, designs and maintain technical and project documentation.

Requirements of the Senior Project Manager:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent mandatory.
  • Proficiency in the following MS Project, MS Office and Smartsheets (preferred, not required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management or IT Management.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience coordinating and/supporting IT business processes
  • Former local, state, federal government experience preferred
