Responsibilities of the Scrum Master:

  • Guide and coach the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  • Guide the team on self-organizing to fill the gaps left in the agile frameworks
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution as a servant leader
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization
  • Ensure agile quality standards and best practices are in place to maximize the team’s performance
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Support and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog
  • Monitor the product variables and KPIs against the product vision

Requirements of the Scrum Master:

  • One year of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team that applies Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Knowledge of Kanban, SAFe, or XP practices
  • Strong facilitating and moderation skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in an IT/technology driven environment
