Job Description

Responsibilities of the Senior Support Engineer:

  • Support operations for AWS hosted platforms and some on premise systems
  • Perform big data processing and meet SLA (Service License Agreement) for critical systems
  • Support: UNIX, Windows, Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL, AWS (EMR, EC2, S3, RDS), AWS CloudWatch, Batch Scheduling, etc.
  • Serve as backup administrator for JAMS batch scheduling tool - maintain, administer, and upgrade batch tool software and AWS infrastructure
  • Regularly participate in operational enhancement development

Requirements of the Senior Support Engineer:

  • At least 8 years of experience in operations
  • Experience supporting Linux/Unix and Windows systems
  • Heavy scripting experience in Perl and Python is required
  • AWS experience is required; EC2, S3, RDS, EBS Volumes, ELB, and Security Groups is required
  • Experience with SQL and MS SQL for AWS/on-premise is required
  • Experience assisting end users with troubleshooting and operational issues
  • Knowledge of setup/provisioning of server environments to support application releases
  • Batch scheduling experience preferred
  • Systems integration experience preferred
  • Experience with application deployment preferred; automated deployment a plus
  • Motivated self-starter, reliable, with strong time/task management skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
