Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a skilled Site Technician with strong desktop support experience with our large and growing client in Boston.

Responsibilities of the Site Technician / Desktop Support Specialist:

  • Install operating systems, software, and images on enterprise desktops and laptops
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot devices, utilizing remote desktop management tools as needed
  • Provide hands-on support to users across multiple locations
  • Receive, respond to, and resolve user issues utilizing a ticketing system within established time frames
  • Clearly communicate and/or escalate user issues to ensure minimal downtime 
  • Serve as the point of contact for office wiring and cable installations
  • Provide backup and restore support: swap tapes, restore files, transfer media
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues
  • Perform system analysis and troubleshooting for LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Monitor and maintain network health and integrity

Requirements of the Site Technician / Desktop Support Specialist:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Microsoft OS, preferably with a help desk ticketing system
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and computer hardware and software - Windows Server, MS Office, MS Exchange (O365/EMS/Azure)
  • Experience with Active Directory functions, including creating accounts and groups, resetting passwords
  • Solid knowledge of network technologies related to LAN, WAN, and VPN; working knowledge of network protocol
  • Experience with new user setup, including phone, PC, network account creation, imaging desktops/laptops
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent service orientation and time management skills
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
