our client seeks a mid-level Software Test Engineer to ensure product quality for a mobile user application in an agile environment. The role will conduct manual and automated testing across user interface and backend components, maintain test assets and documentation, and collaborate with engineering teams. The position emphasizes regression, performance, and automated testing practices with clear communication and agile participation.

 

Due to federal security clearance requirements, the applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr. w2

 


Responsibilities:
  • Author and execute manual and automated test cases to validate product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain tools, techniques, and practices that support testing of the product.
  • Participate in agile planning, analysis, design events, and reviews.
  • Verify quality checks and acceptance criteria before code merges.
  • Report defects and test results with completeness and timeliness.
  • Identify, analyze, and document issues with functionality, outputs, screens, or content.
  • Provide input during design reviews on requirements, designs, schedules, and potential problems.
  • Write testing documentation and finalize system and software documentation CDRLs.
  • Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams.

Experience Requirements:
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
  • 8 to 10 years of software development testing experience.
  • At least 8 years in software testing and/or software development.
  • Proficiency with a scripting language such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience implementing regression testing.
  • Experience performing non-functional testing, including performance testing.
  • Familiarity with automated test tools.
  • Effective communication with product owners and software developers.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly (preferred).
  • Ability to identify efficiencies and process improvements between development and testing (preferred).
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies (preferred).
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN (preferred).
  • Experience with issue tracking tools such as VersionOne or Jira (preferred).
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins (preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint (preferred).
  • DoD 8570 approved security certification such as Security+ or CISSP within 90 days of hire (preferred).
  • Experience using Squish for Qt (preferred).
  • Agile certification (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • DoD 8570 approved security certification such as Security+ or CISSP.
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
