Job Description

Senior Systems Engineer with extensive Networking experience, to be part of the Rail Integration team responsible for supporting Communications Network Systems for the Transit industry. The Sr. Systems Engineer will review, interpret, and design networking infrastructure for the railroad authority. Our team consists of integration engineers, technicians, communication engineers and system administrators and the Sr. Systems Engineer will work with these teammates to complete the variety of tasks on projects.

Responsibilities of the Sr Systems Network Engineer:

  • Will represent the company in customer and project meetings regarding the Network infrastructure
  • Will review and comment on network drawings provided by the customer
  • Will create network drawings to depict new networking design and connections
  • Develop configurations for firewalls, routers, and network switches
  • Will work with the Cyber security to ensure the different levels of network security has been met
  • Will manage the Interface Design Document of the multiple systems both proprietary and commercial for the project
  • Take all possible actions to avoid or minimize problem areas. Anticipate problems and if necessary, proactively revise project plans
  • Work with the team to diagnose and solve issues with the system
  • Document system configurations, set-up, and instructions
  • Develop and follow system requirements so that the system meets all customer expectations

Requirements of the Sr Systems Network Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
  • Experience with Data Warehouse
  • Experience with operation control center, automatic train supervision wayside equipment, signaling, train control, rail systems and/or SCADA systems
  • Background in messaging systems, particularly in mobile communications and control systems
  • Experience in Positive Train Control systems, Automatic Train Controls or predecessor systems
  • Experience in railroad and/ or Mass transit operational environment
