Our client seeks a Sr. Telecommunications Design Engineer III to provide senior technical leadership for mission-critical telecommunications operations and long-range modernization. The role will design and sustain enterprise voice and unified communications, data center infrastructure, and network services aligned to DoD standards. The engineer will produce engineering artifacts, drive reliability and performance, and communicate decisions to stakeholders within a collaborative Agile team.

Salary: $170,000 - $230,000/ yr. w2

 


Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a collaborative and high-performing team delivering technical solutions within the highest levels of the federal government.
  • Perform daily operations and maintenance and provisioning for mission-critical telecommunications environments.
  • Analyze IT architecture to support long-range planning and modernization efforts.
  • Create engineering roadmaps, technical designs, configurations, rack elevations, and bills of materials.
  • Ensure solutions comply with DoD standards and commercial best practices.
  • Participate in Agile planning, execution, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support mission-critical telecommunications infrastructure with a focus on reliability and performance.
  • Communicate technical decisions and designs clearly to stakeholders and customers.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence through technical expertise and delivery excellence.
  • Apply creativity and engineering judgment to design innovative solutions that meet mission and customer needs.

Experience Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • BICSI RCDD certification.
  • DoD 8140-aligned certification for the 441 Network Operations Specialist role, such as Network+, Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, CISSP, or CCNP Security.
  • 12+ years of experience analyzing, designing, and supporting IT and telecommunications infrastructure using DoD and commercial standards.
  • Experience with daily O&M, including direct-touch maintenance and provisioning of telecommunications and IT infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze existing IT architectures and develop long-range strategic plans, including modernization and sustainment roadmaps.
  • Hands-on experience creating rack elevations, data center configuration diagrams, IT roadmaps, engineering configurations, and bills of materials.
  • Operational experience ensuring data center and telecommunications designs adhere to DoD requirements and commercial best practices.
  • Experience designing, integrating, and supporting VoIP and unified communications, including call control, voice gateways, Quality of Service, and voice services integration within enterprise and data center environments.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • BICSI RCDD certification.
  • DoD 8140-aligned certification such as Network+, Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, CISSP, or CCNP Security.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
