The Senior Experience Design Researcher leads and supports experience design research, measurement, and testing across multiple, interrelated journeys. The Senior Experience Design Researcher is an individual contributor who works with cross-functional teams to personally execute on the end-to-end research needed, from discovery to launch and beyond. They are a trusted design partner for their team, bringing professionalism to every aspect of their work.

This Senior Experience Design Researcher will be a part of our client’s innovation team within their Experience Group. This person will be responsible for leading design thinking sessions and workshops.

*Please Note: This team is currently 100% remote, but will eventually be required to work part time onsite in Providence, RI to conduct design thinking sessions. 

Responsibilities of the Sr. UX Researcher & Design Thinking Facilitator:
  • Facilitate and lead design thinking sessions & workshops. This person must have prior experience executing design thinking sessions & workshops.
  • Lead and support experience design research, measurement and testing across complex and interrelated journeys, working with cross functional teams to execute on research needed from discovery to launch and beyond.
  • Conduct end-to-end tactical and longitudinal research, communicating research findings, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure design and development strategy is based upon fact over assumption.
  • Work with research practice lead and other researchers to evolve our research practice and raise awareness for the value of research.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to personally execute on end-to-end research needs (including user experience benchmarking and usability testing), from discovery to launch and beyond.
  • Identifies what research is most appropriate for the situation and helps to define visions, roadmaps, and solutions based on human-centric insights, business viability, and overall feasibility.
Requirements of the Sr. UX Researcher & Design Thinking Facilitator:
  • Experience design research, strategy, service design, interaction design, and/or interface design — ideally in a large enterprise, preferably B2B. Experience in Insurance and/or other Financial Services is a plus.
  • Demonstrates a working understanding of research methods including experimental design, generating research plans, defining and tracking experience metrics over time, data analyses (qual and quant), data synthesis, and coordinating work on multiple products.
  • Solid communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Works autonomously and collaboratively on complex and ambiguous endeavors.
  • Iteratively tests anything from paper prototypes through in-production solutions to inform and recommend better paths to pursue.
  • Contributes to case studies, research reports and other compelling communications about the impact of research, measurement, and testing throughout the organization.
  • Communicates industry-standard and enterprise-specific measurements clearly and consistently. Practices Servant Leadership and sets a strong example for the team and organization
