Our client seeks a Systems Analyst Principal to develop systems specifications aligned with architecture standards, mentor analysts, and lead team activities. The role includes analysis of functional changes across web front-end, databases, services, and batch processing, as well as test case design, data preparation, and defect management. The position supports production troubleshooting, leverages AI tools to accelerate migration efforts to Apache Airflow, and maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $65.00 to $60.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Analyze functional changes for existing or proposed systems.
- Review functional and system requirements covering web front-end, database, web services, RESTful services, and batch processing.
- Review and develop test cases including prerequisites, input scenarios, steps, and expected results.
- Prepare test data to satisfy test scenarios.
- Open and track defects through resolution and perform retesting after fixes.
- Troubleshoot and provide production support as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
- Provide occasional off-hours ad hoc support.
- Mentor system analysts and perform team lead activities.
- Leverage AI and LLM tools to accelerate analysis and migration from IBM IWS to Apache Airflow, including job definition conversion, dependency mapping, and edge case identification.
- Craft effective prompts to generate and refine migration documentation, dependency mappings, and test case scenarios using AI tools.
- Use AI-driven tools for test script generation, anomaly detection, and comparative validation between legacy IWS and new Airflow DAG results.
Experience Requirements:
- 8+ years in computer functional or systems analysis.
- 5+ years writing test cases and testing system requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of systems and functional analysis and software testing practices.
- Proficiency in writing and running SQL queries.
- Experience testing large batch systems, including data setup, job execution, and results verification.
- Knowledge of automated scheduling systems. Apache Airflow experience is a plus.
- Proven analytical skills and ability to manage simultaneous assignments and deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and collaborative work style.
- Ability to meet Public Trust requirements, including presence in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, certifications or training, and experience.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
