Job Description

Local Systems Services and Support Analyst needed for long term contract. The responsibilities include the triage of batch job abends, oversight of the environment, and resolution of user-generated request tickets. This will be a fast paced operations/technical role. 

Responsibilities:

  • This role requires the ability to research issues related to application abends, ControlM scheduling issues, and infrastructure changes for Single Client Feed and FPRS applications. 
  • Perform batch and data support activities through the use of JCL, COBOL, DB2 and various Mainframe tools and practices such as Control M, TSO, ISPF, SQL, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with technical as well as non-technical associates.
  • Ability to function effectively in a critical role balancing multiple projects and requests
  • Ability to adjust communication to level of target audience providing clear, concise, and articulate updates as needed
  • Participate effectively in meetings, calls, etc.
  • Build and maintain day-to-day internal and external relationships in order to provide an ongoing high quality level of service to customers
  • Utilize sound judgment and recommendations to reach critical organizational objectives.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic/practical experience.
  • 3 -5 years of previous experience in a Systems Support or Development role in a mainframe environment.
  • 3-5 Years of working experience and strong knowledge of FTP / SFTP / AS2/ NDM and other managed file transmission protocols
  • Familiarity with AXWAY a plus
  • 2 - 5 years of technical skills/experience using JCL, Control M, TSO, COBOL, DB2, SQL, ISPF, and FileAid
  • Experience with mainframe application and batch processing.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be capable of learning complex processes quickly and have the ability to learn through independent research. 
  • Ability to learn and function effectively as a member of a multi-location team
  • Strong customer focus and customer satisfaction orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to influence peers and superiors in a matrix environment
  • The applicant should also demonstrate effective communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Availability to provide some off-hours /weekend on-call coverage as required.
