Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Engineer with Embedded Systems expertise with our large global client based in NYC.

The Role:

  • Create new and adjust existing electrical schematics and PCB designs.
    • Design experience with CMOS Cameras, multicore SOCs, DDR, Flash memory, Ethernet, DC-DC conversion and LED drivers
    • High-speed (1GHz+) differential and controlled-impedance PCB design
    • Altium Designer, OrCAD, PADS PowerPCB and/or similar
  • Work closely with Hardware Director, Mechanical Engineers and Firmware Engineers to take product to full production.
    • Evaluation and modification of development boards
    • Use of rapid prototyping services
    • 3D printing and light machine work
    • Component selection and sourcing
    • Validation and rework of prototype PCBs
  • Support existing and future products throughout the full life cycle.
    • Select and evaluate component substitutions for cost savings and EOL replacement
    • Update electrical schematics and PCB design files as needed
    • Document validation efforts
    • Document changes with updated Bills of Materials, Engineering Change Notifications and Engineering Change Orders
  • Work with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories to ensure product meets EMC and safety requirements for all applicable markets domestic and overseas
  • Work directly with contract manufacturers to establish assembly processes, testing processes and test fixtures
  • Visit manufacturing partners domestically and overseas to facilitate process and quality improvements
    • The Netherlands, Germany, China, Japan, Mexico, UAE, Spain, etc.
    • United States (California, Florida, New Jersey, New York, etc.)

You:

  • Have worked on products from their conception to production
  • Have built hardware projects as a personal pursuit, inclusive of PCB design/layout
  • Value learning, creativity and have initiative
  • Are good with people
  • Are technically proficient in English. Mandarin a plus!
  • Have a valid passport
