IT Project Manager

This Project Manager will manage Software Development projects in support of public sector healthcare organizations. This is a permanent, long-term role that is based in Austin, Texas but can accommodate a partial remote schedule. A full list of responsibilities and targeted experiences are listed below.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in reviews of data derived from project and performance management processes and summarize findings.
  • Participate in client meetings to address needs of project stakeholders; develops trust, credibility, and strong client relationships; seeks opportunities to add value to internal and external client initiatives.
  • Gather data using established methodologies to perform quality reviews of work products delivered by team members and service providers.
  • Prepare reports using established baselines; evaluate trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to management functions: including work breakdown and cost estimation, scheduling, monitoring and tracking of technical progress against the defined timetables and budgets, and staff assignment and development.
  • Gather system data and performance reports to support identification of trends and business impact.
  • Identify, track, manage, and communicate risks and issues with upper management.
  • Work with stakeholders in defining solutions to change requests, business problems, process problems and defects.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

  • 4-5+ years of software development life cycle direct experience. (Waterfall, Agile).
  • Experience with project management tools and processes such as PMBOK, ISO, Six Sigma, risk management, project scheduling, estimating, and facilitation.
  • Strong interpersonal skill to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, and time tracking.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using spreadsheets, databases, and/or reporting software to perform analysis. 

Skills / Knowledge Preferred (not required):

  • Working Knowledge of IVR, Oracle 11g, Oracle Siebel, OBIEE, J2EE, Web Technologies, Webservices, XML, or Deployment Management experience is a plus.
  • Relevant industry experience to include government services, healthcare, insurance is a plus.
  • Proficiency with state healthcare programs (e.g., Medicaid, CHIP) and related functions (e.g., enrollment management, eligibility determination) is a plus.
  • CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) Certificate, or PMP is a plus.
