Job Description

Are you a passionate cyber security professional with significant security alert management and monitoring experience? Are you interested in applying your expertise and building your skill set in a fast-paced setting? If so, we may have the ideal role for you with our client in Westminster!

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Applicants must be willing to work third shift: Tuesday - Friday 9 PM - 7 AM, and be flexible in scheduling.

Responsibilities of the SOC Analyst:

  • Monitor and analyze cyber security resources such as Symantec
  • Monitor data feeds of alerts and logs from firewalls, routers, etc.
  • Conduct initial triage of security events and incidents
  • Recognize and resolve potential and successful intrusion attempts
  • Provide incident response support for Cloud environment
  • Offer recommendations to enhance organizational security posture
  • Maintain current knowledge of security technologies

Requirements of the SOC Analyst:

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
  • At least 3 years of directly related experience in:
    • Workstation and server administration
    • Security alert management
    • Customer issue support
  • Experience with Windows and non-Windows servers
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve technical issues
  • Experience in a process-oriented environment; ITIL preferred
  • ITIL Foundation v4 required within 6 months of hire
  • Experience in a multi-tiered ticketing system
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Cherwell Service Management platform a plus
