Eliassen Group has an exciting opportunity for an Agile Team Level Coach to join our Agile Consulting Practice as we help our client embark on their Agile Journey via series of Agile Pilot Teams.  The client is a multi-billion dollar, highly successful Insurance organization.

As the first full-time/embedded Agile Team Coach on ground, you can work with some motivated teams, helping them set the pace for the organizations Agile Journey as it grows and matures.

The Agile Team Level Coach is a core member of the Clients Agile Center of Excellence (ACOE).  You will be an integral part of the ACOE responsible for helping the client achieve Agile maturity across initial Agile Pilot Teams. You will coach and guide your assigned teams to a level of Agile Maturity, and then move on to new Agile teams when needed. The Agile Teams Coach takes direction from, and partners with, Eliassen’s Agile Transformation Lead and members of the Client's ACOE.

Responsibilities of the Agile Team Coach:

  • Serve as the team level Agile Coach to help bring new Agile Teams on-board
  • Provide team level Agile coaching support for existing Agile teams, as needed
  • Conduct monthly Agile Maturity Assessments (AMAs), to document the maturity of assigned Agile teams, using Eliassen’s Agile Maturity Matrix
  • Conduct workshops and coaching where and when valuable to accelerate team maturity on topics including: story mapping, story writing, Agile, Scrum, sprint planning, etc.
  • Work with sponsors and organizational Agile Coaches to stage environments for teams
  • Work with management to resolve issues and impediments that exist at the team level
  • Support and leverage efforts of the Eliassen Agile Transformation Lead to execute at the team level on:
    • Org Policies fit-for-purpose
    • Vision & Strategy
    • Enablers (E.g.., Runway, Training, Intake & Planning)
    • Product Management vs Service Management
    • Capacity vs. Project Planning

Requirements of the Agile Team Coach:

  • Experience as a Scrum Master on Product Owner on multiple teams
  • Relatively recent experience as a team member or other roles responsible for deliverable 
  • Extended track record of delivering team training in a manner than ensures knowledge transfer
  • Hands-on coaching in one of Technical, Product Management, Project Management or User Experience areas
  • Strong facilitation and diplomatic skills with the ability to connect with an organization to bring the right people to resolve impediments quickly
