Job Description

Position: Confluent Kafka Administrator

Location: Baltimore, MD (remote until further notice due to COVID-19)

Duration: 4 month Pilot contract with extensions

Clearance: Able/willing to obtain Public Trust clearance

Description:

• The Confluent Kafka Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the design, architecture, implementation, and on-going support of Kafka clusters on an Event Streaming Architecture Pilot project.
• Manage large scale multi-nodes Kafka cluster environments.
• Handle all Kafka environment builds, including design, capacity planning, cluster setup, performance tuning and ongoing monitoring.
• Perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for the Kafka Cluster.

Key Required Skills:

Installing, configuring and maintaining the Confluent Platform components including:

Apache Kafka, Confluent Control Center, Confluent Schema Registry, Confluent Replicator, and Confluent Security Plugins

Skills Requirements:

Desired Skills

• Experience administering the following Event Driven Architecture Components:
• 5 years with Apache Kafka
  • 5 years with Kafka Brokers
• 2 years ZooKeeper
• 2 years Confluent Control Center
• 2 years Confluent Schema Registry
• 2 years Connect cluster
• Understanding of Data access, Data Retention and archiving
• Experience working with browse events across federated brokers
• Experience performing Confluent Platform installation, upgrades, and maintenance
• Experience working with Confluent Security Plugins

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience
